{"id":75782,"date":"2019-03-19T10:35:03","date_gmt":"2019-03-19T08:35:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=75782"},"modified":"2019-03-19T10:35:03","modified_gmt":"2019-03-19T08:35:03","slug":"one-soldier-dies-3-missing-in-bua-river","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2019\/03\/19\/one-soldier-dies-3-missing-in-bua-river\/","title":{"rendered":"One soldier dies, 3 missing in Bua River"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>By Audrey Kapalamula: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One Malawi Defence Force (MDF) soldier died Monday while five others, including two civilians, are missing in Bua River in Kasungu after a bailey bridge they were working on collapsed into the water on Sunday evening.<\/p>\n<p>The officers are from Engineers Battalion in Kasungu.<\/p>\n<p>MDF spokesperson, Paul Chiphwanya, said one officer was found Monday but he died on his way to Kasungu District Hospital.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cThe incident happened at around 5pm when our soldiers went there to assess a bailey bridge. We don\u2019t know what happened but the bridge broke down.
