Let me assure you that everyone will receive aid and no one will die of hunger. We have had delays in relief distribution but that is due to logistical problems,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Chimulirenji also commended Mutharika for steering the country\u2019s development agenda, citing rural electrification and road construction programmes as some of the notable ones.<\/p>\n<p>He, however, bemoaned what he called a culture of castigating Mutharika which, he said, is based on jealousy.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cSome people are insulting President Mutharika, calling him all sorts of names. This is very bad. In fact, they are jealous. They know that Mutharika is development-oriented and has support all over. Let me emphasise that the Mutharika-led DPP [Democratic Progressive Party] government will not relinquish power as people are happy with this government\u2019s administration,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Chimulirenji also promised to be a servant of the poor, saying he understands poor people\u2019s predicament because he, too, had humble beginnings.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Emmanuel Chirwa: The government has said no person in the country will die of hunger as it has put in place measures to support people facing food shortage.
