\"\"<\/a>Hear Us Children, which is a creative art group from Music Crossroads Malawi, is expected to tour Spain and Brazil this year as part of a cultural exchange programme.<\/p>\n

Music Crossroads Malawi Director, Mathews Mfune, who is in Norway for a summit, confirmed the development Tuesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cHear Us Children will be going to Spain this month and, in June they head to Brazil. These are all cultural exchange programmes although the programmes are different. We will send a different group in Spain and another group in Brazil,\u201d<\/em> Mfune said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Mfune said after attending a meeting in Norway, he will be heading to Spain to make preparations for Hear Us\u2019 visit.<\/p>\n

Hear Us children has been of the forefront in empowering children to speak for themselves and peers on different issues that affect them by using arts.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are several benefits with these exchange programmes, the children share ideas and network and most of all they hold performances where they showcase traditional dances from Malawi,\u201d<\/em> Mfune said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

He said the children use Hear Us to talk about education, health, environment, family support, child marriages and sexual harassment among others.<\/p>\n

He said they believe that such media are the best for children to express their feelings while at the same time developing their life and career skills.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo we have also created a great platform for career development. Asante Maulidi, Prince Banda and Precious Ngulube are some of those who have proceeded to graduate and are doing much more in the industry and others have gone to the university,\u201d<\/em> Mfune said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

One of the people who will be part of the tour is Chifundo Sandy, who is a lead vocalist for Daughters Band and also trains music pedagogy at Music Crossroads Academy.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are looking forward to this tour. It\u2019s all about learning from each other. These exchange programmes give a chance to the children to share skills and in turn grow their talents,\u201d<\/em> Sandy said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Hear Us Children leaves for Spain on March 18 2019 and returns on April 6 2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
