But I was humbled to work as coach of the team. I believe that I tried my best despite several challenges,\u201d<\/em> she said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Chikhosi confirmed that his contract expired last year. Abel Mkandawire is also Chombo- Sadik\u2019s deputy.<\/p>\n<p>National Women\u2019s Football Association Chairperson, Severia Chalira, refused to comment on the issue of coaches\u2019 contracts, saying she was busy.<\/p>\n<p>Chombo-Sadik, who took over from Stuart Mbolembole, is among highly-trained female coaches on the domestic football scene.<\/p>\n<p>Council of Southern Africa Football Associations encourages its member associations, such as Fam, to employ female coaches for women\u2019s teams.<\/p>\n<p>Men can be appointed as assistant coaches.<\/p>\n<p>Under Chombo-Sadik at the 2018 Cosafa Championship, Malawi lost 2-0 to Botswana before beating Madagascar by a similar margin, then losing 6-0 to South Africa.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Mabvuto Kambuwe: Malawi national women\u2019s football team Coach, Maggie Chombo-Sadik, and her backroom staff have no running contracts with Football Association of Malawi (Fam) after the expiry of their deals in November 2018.
