Chifundo Makawano was elected vice chairperson unopposed.<\/p>\n<p>In his victory speech, Yasin said he would strive hard to make the team a force to reckon with in the 2019 season.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cOur aim is to ensure that the team finishes in the top five at the end of the 2019 season. We will also start the process of commercialisation to generate more resources for the team,\u201d<\/em> Yasin said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Banda accepted defeat and promised smooth transition of power.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cWe are one family and will continue working together for the good of the team,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The position of general secretary went to Mac Fallen Nyirenda whereas Blessings Nkhoma was elected his deputy unopposed.<\/p>\n<p>Mike Chiwanga was elected treasurer unopposed whereas Edward Balakasi was voted his deputy.<\/p>\n<p>In their debut season, Stars finished on position nine with 36 points.<\/p>\n<p>The Kasungu-based side has a chance to take part in the 2019 Airtel Top 8 Cup if the suspension of Nyasa Big Bullets will not be lifted.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Mabvuto Kambuwe: The newly elected TN Stars executive committee has a huge task in the new season after inheriting debts estimated at K13 million from the previous committee.
