He failed to negotiate a bend and later hit the minibus, which was coming from the opposite direction,\u201d<\/em> Bwanali said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The minibus driver has been identified as 34-year-old Listen Kumwenda from T\/A Mtwalo in Mzimba District.<\/p>\n<p>Bwanali said Chunga failed to negotiate a left bend because of speeding.<\/p>\n<p>He said both the soldier and a girl sustained head injuries and both died while on their way to Karonga District Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Six people who have sustained serious injuries are the minibus driver; Kabubula Chilupsa, 36; Chancy Nkhonjera, 22; Junior Saidi Mhango, 7; Anold Mphande, 24; and Tilibe Menson, 21.<\/p>\n<p>This is the first fatal accident in the Northern Region in 2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Samuel Kalimira: A Malawi Defense Force soldier from Chilumba Barracks and a girl whose particulars are not yet known died on Sunday evening in a head-on-collision of two vehicles at Uliwa in Karonga District.
