Malawi national football team seasoned midfielder Robert Ng\u2019ambi is set to make a competitive return to action at South Africa Premier Soccer League side Black Leopards this weekend after sealing a six-month deal.<\/p>\n

Ng\u2019ambi has been without a club since his contract expired last season at relegated Platinum Stars<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The former Nyasa Big Bullets midfielder, who was also linked with a move to Cyprus, said he is happy to return to Leopards where he spent close to five years before moving to Stars.<\/p>\n

Ng\u2019ambi said he rejoined Leopards for six months with the option of extending his contract during the next transfer window in June.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am working on regaining full fitness after spending four months without kicking the ball due to my injury. I am getting there and all is well. I have been here before and I know the culture of Leopards.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI expect to be in action this weekend because my doctor has declared me fit. I am looking forward to returning on a high although it will not be easy. The team has many good players and I need to work hard to find myself a place in the starting lineup,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

On his move to Cyprus, Ng\u2019ambi said the door was not closed yet.<\/p>\n

\u201cI told the clubs which wanted to sign me to wait until I am physically fit. After sustaining the injury, it was hard to continue staying in Cyprus. So I just need to get my game back on track and see what happens next,\u201d<\/em> Ng\u2019ambi added.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Ng\u2019ambi was not part of the Flames squad during Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in September and October last year due to the injury.<\/p>\n

His immediate task will be to help Leopards improve their position in the league where they lie 12th with 16 points from 15 matches.<\/p>\n

Ng\u2019ambi watched from the bench on Saturday as Leopards beat Baroka FC 2-1 in a Limpopo derby.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
