I will try to give out the best and am looking forward to sharing the stage with the likes of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/waliko-mkanthama-share-stage-with-us-women-band\/\">Waliko Makhala<\/a>. It will be exciting and I just want to call upon people to come and be part of the launch,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The harmonica player and singer-songwriter was born in the heart of Africa to parents of American\/British origins.<\/p>\n<p>He discovered his passion for music in London and emigrated to the city of New Orleans.<\/p>\n<p>Along with Sangalala Band, Gilmore topped the music charts twice in the country with afro-pop songs \u2018Ngati Mafunde\u2019 in 2005 and \u2018Malawian Queen\u2019 in 2006.<\/p>\n<p>Another artist set to perform during the launch is Rick Deja, who is based in South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>Makhala, who is an ethno-musician said Monday Deja would arrive in the country today.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Sam Banda Jnr: Kenny Gilmore, architect of the song \u2018Ngati Mafunde\u2019, arrived in the country on Sunday ahead of the launch of his book Harmonica Diaries on January 12 at Jacaranda Cultural Centre (JCC) in Blantyre.
