It was not government\u2019s priority,\u201d<\/em> Gondwe said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In Lilongwe, the Commercial Court and Industrial Relations Court are operating in rented buildings in the city due to insufficient space at court premises in Area 3.<\/p>\n<p>In 2015, the judiciary said it was working against clock to ensure that judges and magistrates in the capital city have enough courtrooms and judge chambers.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview, judiciary spokesperson Agnes Patemba said, so far, there is nothing that has been done and there has been nothing in their budgets for the complex project.<\/p>\n<p>When announcing plans to build the complex, government said the project was expected to take on board all courtrooms and chambers for magistrates and judges.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Rebecca Chimjeka: Government is failing to start the construction of a new judiciary complex in Lilongwe four years after Minister of Finance, Economic Planning and Development Goodall Gondwe announced plans for the project.
