Malawi National Council of Sports pocketed K1.6 million.<\/p>\n<p>Wanderers Chairperson, Gift Mkandawire, described the revenue as \u201cfair\u201d.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cWe were expecting about K50 million but K40 million is fair. On our part, we are happy that we won the cup with a convincing performance,\u201d<\/em> Mkandawire said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Fam Marketing and Commercial Director, Limbani Matola, said, after deducting K6.4 million, the net was K33.8 million.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe are generally satisfied with the revenue realised and so are all stakeholders. Overall, there was good coordination among all service providers-police, stewards, Maximum Security Company which helped to consolidate security in all access areas, Bingu National Stadium personnel and Four Sisters, the company which we engaged for the sale of tickets,\u201d Matola said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Wanderers were crowned the cup\u2019s champions for the second time in three years after they defeated Silver 3-2 in an exciting game.<\/p>\n<p>Goal poacher Zicco Mkanda was the hero of the day when he netted a second half brace before Yamikani Chester scored the winner.<\/p>\n<p>The Central Bankers scored through Ghanaian striker Michael Tetteh and Victor Limbani.<\/p>\n<p>Mkanda has scooped the competition\u2019s top goal scorer award with seven goals and will pocket K200,000.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Mabvuto Kambuwe: The 2018 Fisd Challenge Cup final involving eventual champions Be Forward Wanderers and Silver Strikers grossed an estimated K40 million in gate revenue at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe on Sunday.
