{"id":71661,"date":"2018-11-14T05:13:52","date_gmt":"2018-11-14T03:13:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=71661"},"modified":"2018-11-14T05:13:52","modified_gmt":"2018-11-14T03:13:52","slug":"gabadinho-mhango-will-return-to-portugal-in-january","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2018\/11\/14\/gabadinho-mhango-will-return-to-portugal-in-january\/","title":{"rendered":"Gabadinho Mhango will return to Portugal in January"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>By Williams Gondwa:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Star forward Gabadinho Mhango has returned to his South Africa base after completing two-week trials at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.times.mw\/top-portuguese-club-wants-gabadinho-mhango\/\">Portuguese<\/a> side, Vitoria Futebol Clube, but he is mum on the outcome of the test.<\/p>\n<p>Gabadinho, whose contract with Bidvest Wits FC<a href=\"https:\/\/www.times.mw\/gabadinho-mhango-hints-at-bidvest-wits-exit\/\"> ends in June<\/a> 2019, Tuesday said he would disclose the outcome of the trials later, adding that he enjoyed his adventure in Portugal.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cIt is true that I completed the trials on Sunday but I cannot talk much now. Just know that I am going back to Portugal in January,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Flames forward has fallen down the pecking order at his Premier Soccer League club following reports that he wants out.<\/p>\n<p>The former Bloemfontein Celtic striker has been sidelined at Wits since last year, despite that he was their top scorer in 2017 when he helped them win several trophies.<\/p>\n<p>Gabadinho will miss the Flames\u2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Comoros Island on Saturday due to yellow cards\u2019 suspension.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on Gabadinho\u2019s trials, former Nyasa Big Bullets general secretary, Higger Mkandawire, said the player should move to Portugal to revive his career.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cIt is a welcome development although we are not sure whether he has passed the trials or not. But if he is saying that he would return to Portugal in January, it means that something good has happened.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cHe is a hard-working player but must work on his attitude because he is going to face stiff competition in Portugal,\u201d<\/em> Mkandawire said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Wits Coach, Gavin Hunt, did not respond when asked Tuesday on Gabadinho\u2019s future with the Johannesburg side but told the press in South Africa that he hopes the player would make it Portugal.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cObviously it\u2019s a big opportunity for the boy, it\u2019s not about losing him. It\u2019s a big opportunity to play at the highest level you know, in the big league.
