{"id":71583,"date":"2018-11-13T08:53:05","date_gmt":"2018-11-13T06:53:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=71583"},"modified":"2018-11-13T08:53:05","modified_gmt":"2018-11-13T06:53:05","slug":"carl-joshua-jets-in-wednesday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2018\/11\/13\/carl-joshua-jets-in-wednesday\/","title":{"rendered":"Carl Joshua jets in Wednesday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>By Sam Banda Jnr:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/malewezi.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-27119\" src=\"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/malewezi-300x204.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"204\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/malewezi-300x204.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/malewezi-90x60.jpg 90w, https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/malewezi-95x64.jpg 95w, https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/malewezi.jpg 489w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Zimbabwe\u2019s comedian <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sundaymail.co.zw\/carl-joshua-ncube-up-for-international-gong\/\">Carl Joshua Ncube<\/a> will be the first to arrive in the country tomorrow ahead of the Grand Coalition show to be held at Bingu International Convention Centre in Lilongwe on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The Grand Coalition show organised by Kweza Arts led by renowned poet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.times.mw\/q-malewezis-album-to-be-available-on-itunes\/\">Q Malewezi<\/a> apart from Carl, will feature the country\u2019s UK-based comedian Daliso and Uganda\u2019s comics Annie Kansiime and Coltida Inapo.<\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time for all the four comedians to perform in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Q Monday, said all is set for the event and that Carl arrives Wednesday followed by Kansiime on Thursday, Inapo on Saturday and Daliso will arrive on the same day of the show.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cWe are looking forward to the show and tickets are selling. Carl comes in early because he is doing a Chef event on Thursday at Latitude,\u201d<\/em> Q said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Kweza Arts, a new establishment, is using the show as a fundraising tool as it plans to build the Kweza Arts Centre in Lilongwe.<\/p>\n<p>All the four comedians have had performances in the country but Q said this will be a different setup.<\/p>\n<p>Carl and Daliso performed in the country last year courtesy of Qoncept Creatives and had performances in Blantyre and Lilongwe performed in the country after making headlines in the Britain\u2019s Got Talent.<\/p>\n<p>Kansiime and Cotilda last performed in the country in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Q said they have a mission to create a home for the arts in Lilongwe.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cAs indicated last time when we were announcing the establishment, we will do some fundraising and also apply for grants so this is one of the fundraising events,&#8221; <\/em>he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Kweza Arts Centre\u2014 which will have a multi use space for performing arts, corporate and community events, sculpture garden, creative hub to provide workspaces for creatives and a restaurant\u2014is estimated to cost US$2million.<\/p>\n<p>Q said Kweza Arts is an arts non-profit organisation with a vision to contribute to Lilongwe\u2019s arts experience through development of arts spaces among others.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cWe will do advocacy and arts programming. We have a number of projects planned with the major being the construction of an arts centre and creative hub.
