{"id":71184,"date":"2018-11-02T08:57:33","date_gmt":"2018-11-02T06:57:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=71184"},"modified":"2018-11-02T08:57:33","modified_gmt":"2018-11-02T06:57:33","slug":"bush-music-comes-back-to-jacaranda-cultural-centre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2018\/11\/02\/bush-music-comes-back-to-jacaranda-cultural-centre\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Bush music\u2019 comes back to Jacaranda Cultural Centre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>By Sam Banda Jnr: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ethno-musician Waliko Makhala goes back to Jacaranda Cultural Centre (JCC) in Blantyre tonight to give people a treat of his \u2018Bush Music\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Waliko dubs his music Bush because \u201cit is uncivilised\u201d and \u201cit is the sound from our ancestors\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In some of his songs, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.times.mw\/waliko-mkanthama-share-stage-with-us-women-band\/\">Waliko<\/a> uses folktales and engages the audience through question-and-answer sessions.<\/p>\n<p>The concert will see Waliko sharing the stage with Spare Fingers.<\/p>\n<p>Waliko and Spare Fingers also shared the stage at this year\u2019s Lilongwe Jazz Festival held in August.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cThis is music from our ancestors, music that involves everyone and one enjoys it to the fullest.
