Not so with female bodybuilder Doreen Kumbatila, who impressed during her debut, finishing on position five during the Gentle Giants competition held in South Africa on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Reports from South Africa indicate that Kumbatila participated in the competition alongside compatriots, Frazier Zeka and Mr Malawi, Emmanuel Muhuwa, who were in the men\u2019s section.<\/p>\n<p>The trio reportedly self-sponsored the trip.<\/p>\n<p>Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Association of Malawi General Secretary, Harold Mwayang\u2019ana, said they were encouraged by Kumbatila\u2019s performance.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cWe are yet to get full details but Doreen finished fifth, which is commendable,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>On his Facebook page, the association\u2019s former president, Charles Ulaya, hailed Kumbatila for shinning. <strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Mphatso Malidadi: Body-building is considered a domain for males in Malawi.
