{"id":71144,"date":"2018-11-01T09:45:21","date_gmt":"2018-11-01T07:45:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=71144"},"modified":"2018-11-01T09:47:10","modified_gmt":"2018-11-01T07:47:10","slug":"october-target-missed-for-jakobo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2018\/11\/01\/october-target-missed-for-jakobo\/","title":{"rendered":"October target missed for Jakobo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Sam Banda Jnr:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/joshua-malango.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-60413\" src=\"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/joshua-malango-300x134.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"134\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/joshua-malango-300x134.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/joshua-malango-768x342.jpg 768w, https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/joshua-malango.jpg 820w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>The target set by Friends of Eric Mabedi for the comedian to travel to India by the month of October for a kidney transplant has been missed.<\/p>\n<p>Friends of Eric Mabedi sounded an SOS that the veteran comedian and actor was in need of K20 million for urgent kidney transplant.<\/p>\n<p>The government stepped in later saying they would help Mabedi and indicated he was on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.times.mw\/jakobo-on-october-28-list\/\">October 28 list<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But last Friday the government said it is yet to get feedback from Artemis Hospital in India.<\/p>\n<p>Ministry of Health and Population Services spokesperson, Joshua Malango, said the government is set, having done all the paperwork.<\/p>\n<p>Malango said they sent Mabedi\u2019s medical history and that the hospital acknowledged.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cThe hospital gives us feedback after consultations with experts before travels; as such, we are waiting for feedback,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Malango could not be reached yesterday on progress and whether they have finally got feedback.<\/p>\n<p>Mabedi, who is undergoing dialysis, Wednesday said he is still waiting to hear from the government.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cI am still waiting but I will be travelling to Lilongwe on Friday,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Sam Banda Jnr: The target set by Friends of Eric Mabedi for the comedian to travel to India by the month of October for a kidney transplant has been missed.
