Both our ladies\u2019 and men\u2019s teams qualified for the continental event and we are going there to compete and not just to participate, Kalua said.<\/p>\n<p>Bravehearts Ladies Coach, Lusungu Banda, said her charges are aiming at causing one of the biggest upsets in basketball.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf course, we are going there as underdogs but we will put up a good fight. We have participated in several international tournaments and we have good players,\u201d Banda said.<\/p>\n<p>Bravehearts Ladies are heading for the tournament in high spirits after winning the Bravehearts Invitational Tournament recently whereas the men\u2019s team exited the tournament in the quarterfinals.<\/p>\n<p>The qualifiers will attract teams from Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa, Mozambique, Lesotho, Angola and Namibia.<\/p>\n<p>Zimbabwe will be represented by Harare City Hornets, Foxes, Lakers and Vixens. Mozambique and Angola will be sending four teams each.<\/p>\n<p>Winners of the qualifiers will make it to the Fiba African Club Championship to face champions from other parts of the continent.<\/p>\n<p>Winners of the continental championship will qualify for the Fiba World Club Championship.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, the continental championship took place in Gaborone, Botswana, and saw Angola sides Libolo and Interclube qualifying for the Africa Club Championship in the men\u2019s category whereas Ferroviario De Maputo and De Agosto of Angola made it in the ladies\u2019 section.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Mabvuto Kambuwe: Bravehearts men\u2019s and ladies\u2019 basketball clubs are set to battle against continental powerhouses when they take part in this year\u2019s Zone 6 Fiba qualifiers scheduled for October 21 to 29 in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.
