Nyasa Big Bullets have moved a step closer to naming Zimbabwean coach Callisto Pasuwa as their new mentor.<\/p>\n
Pasuwa was at Kamuzu Stadium where Bullets beat Zanzibar\u2019s JKU 2-0 yesterday, after attending interviews in the morning.<\/p>\n
Bullets Chief Executive Officer, Fleetwood Haiya, said they were yet to assess Pasuwa\u2019s performance after the interviews.<\/p>\n
\u201cPasuwa came here [at Kamuzu Stadium] as part of his interviews. He watched the game and we expect his report on the team\u2019s overall performance and what must be done. We are yet to finalise his assessment before embarking on discussions. I can assure the Bullets family that we are working had to get a qualified coach very soon,\u201d Haiya said.<\/p>\n
Bullets are in the hunt for a new coach after firing Rodgers Yasini and Elia Kananji on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
A panel comprising Heston Munthali, James Chilapondwa and Fisher Kondowe took charge of yesterday\u2019s match.<\/p>\n
Sankhani Mkandawire and Nelson Kangunje were on target as Bullets easily won the game.<\/p>\n
Mkandawire put Bullets in the lead after a melee in the 18- yard box following a long throw-in from Emmanuel Zoya in the 13th minute, before Kangunje converted a spotkick ten minutes before recess.<\/p>\n
JKU Technical Director, Masaud Attai, said his team performed well despite arriving for the match on Friday night.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe could have done better if we had rested a bit. The players did not have enough rest after the long journey,\u201d Attai said.<\/p>\n
Chilapondwa said it was an encouraging performance as the team looks forward to the arrival of a new coach.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are happy with what we have and things can only get better,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
