{"id":70266,"date":"2018-10-12T09:40:47","date_gmt":"2018-10-12T07:40:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=70266"},"modified":"2018-10-12T09:40:47","modified_gmt":"2018-10-12T07:40:47","slug":"members-of-joyous-in-mothers-day-show","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2018\/10\/12\/members-of-joyous-in-mothers-day-show\/","title":{"rendered":"Members of Joyous in Mothers\u2019 Day show"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>By Sam Banda Jnr: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Some past and present members of well known South Africa gospel group, Joyous Celebration, are set to perform in the country on Sunday at Umodzi Park in Lilongwe where they will share the stage with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.times.mw\/scandinavian-tour-beckons-faith-mussa\/\">Faith Mussa<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The show is expected to cost K10,000 for standard ticket, K15,000 VIP and K20,000 VVIP.<\/p>\n<p>Event Manager, Sam Chiwanda, said Thursday all was set for the concert that will bless souls while giving mothers a treat.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cEverything is in place. The team jets in tomorrow (Friday) ahead of the concert. We are ready and are calling on people to come and be part of the concert,\u201d<\/em> Chiwanda said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Chiwanda said they have always admired these artists and felt it was time they gave mothers something during Mother\u2019s Day weekend.<\/p>\n<p>But Chiwanda was quick to say this was not Joyous Celebration but, rather, a performance of some of the past and present members of the group.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cAll ground-work has been done, including making payments to artists. Most of them were available on the proposed dates. This is our first time and we are excited about it,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Chiwanda said, depending on the feedback they get on this initial concert, they will continue to host more concerts.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cThe main goal for us is for mothers to have a good time with their children while rejoicing in the Lord. They should expect a lot of dancing and, yes, we will have a live band,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Some of the members expected to star during the concert are Ayanda Shange, Sibusiso Mthembu, Sabu Satsha and Hlengiwe Ntombela.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile Faith, who is set to go on a Scandinavian tour later this month and is set to perform at this concert, has been named World Vision Malawi (WVI) Ambassador on \u2018It takes Malawi to Stop Girl Marriage Campaign\u2019 alongside fellow musician Patience Namadingo.<\/p>\n<p>Faith was introduced as the brand ambassador on the eve of the International Day of the Girl- Child.<\/p>\n<p>The musician humbly accepted the challenge along with seven other ambassadors, calling upon every Malawian to do their best to fight cases of child marriage.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cLet\u2019s remember to work together.
