But the ultimate results are to see people\u2019s lives improve. We need strong institutions that can fight for the rights of the local population, particularly smallholder farmers and men and women living in poverty,\u201d<\/em> she said<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The implementing partners include Farmers Union of Malawi, Malawi Milk Producers Association, Women Legal Resources Centre (Wolrec) and Malawi Union of Savings and Credit Associations.<\/p>\n<p>Wolrec Director, Maggie Kathewera-Banda, said the programme is significant as it will address the problems people face.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cEvery partner organisation has a role to play and, as such, we are looking forward to having a successful programme to improve people\u2019s lives,\u201d<\/em> she said<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development Principal Secretary, Kiswel Dakamau, said the programme would complement the government efforts to provide developmental needs to vulnerable people.<\/p>\n<p>The programme is supported by the government of Sweden through its development agency, Sida.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Audrey Kapalmula: We Effect, a Swedish organisation working in the country, has pumped K3.5 billion in poverty reduction efforts.
