{"id":69993,"date":"2018-10-05T07:08:32","date_gmt":"2018-10-05T05:08:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=69993"},"modified":"2018-10-05T07:08:34","modified_gmt":"2018-10-05T05:08:34","slug":"griffin-saenda-wants-lauren-ngwira-wrangle-resolved","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2018\/10\/05\/griffin-saenda-wants-lauren-ngwira-wrangle-resolved\/","title":{"rendered":"Griffin Saenda wants Lauren Ngwira wrangle resolved"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>By Mphatso Malidadi: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/griffin-saenda.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-69612\" src=\"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/griffin-saenda-300x134.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"134\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/griffin-saenda-300x134.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/griffin-saenda-768x342.jpg 768w, https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/griffin-saenda.jpg 820w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Malawi national netball team mentor, Griffin Saenda Snr, has called on Netball Association of Malawi (Nam) to resolve the transfer wrangle surrounding Tigresses all-rounder Lauren Ngwira.<\/p>\n<p>Tigresses have taken a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.times.mw\/tigresses-take-nam-to-task\/\"> swipe at Nam<\/a> over incidents they suspect to be a plot to frustrate the club.<\/p>\n<p>The development has put in doubt the future of Tigresses players that have been called for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.times.mw\/queens-regroup-for-fast-5\/\">national team duties<\/a> ahead of the Fast5 Netball World Series set for Melbourne, Australia.<\/p>\n<p>Queens Coach, Griffin Saenda Snr, fears the stand-off might affect the availability of Tigresses\u2019 players Beatrice Mpinganjira, Lauren Ngwira and Sindie Simtowe-Msowoya in the next camp training.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cAs it is, I am not sure if the players will report for training,\u201d<\/em> Saenda said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Malawi are due to start preparations on Sunday in Blantyre, with 28 players being called into camp.<\/p>\n<p>Saenda feels the best way to resolve the issue is through a round-table to enable the players to compete for selection with players from other teams.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u00a0\u201cI believe the best way to resolve the issue is through roundtable discussions. We need all our top players in camp if we are to assemble a strong team. I am sure roundtable discussions will help us to resolve the wrangle,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Tigresses Team Manager, Helene Mpinganjira-Tasosa, earlier stated that they do not want their players to go for an international tournament and get transferred to another team without the club\u2019s consent.<\/p>\n<p>Tiga have been at loggerheads with Nam after the national netball governing body cleared Ngwira to play for Team Northumbria in the United Kingdom without the club\u2019s consent.<\/p>\n<p>Tigresses have since been exempted from taking part in Rainbow Paints Blantyre and Districts Netball League until the issue is resolved.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Mphatso Malidadi: Malawi national netball team mentor, Griffin Saenda Snr, has called on Netball Association of Malawi (Nam) to resolve the transfer wrangle surrounding Tigresses all-rounder Lauren Ngwira.
