Bullets collected maximum points on the same day after beating Mafco 2-1 at Kamuzu Stadium to continue dictating proceedings in the 16-team league with 52 points.<\/p>\n<p>Silver assistant Coach Peter Mgangira said it was too early to concede defeat.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cThere are several games to the end of the season; so, anything can happen. Football is a game of surprises. The last four games will be very crucial for each team. We will not give up without a fight,\u201d<\/em> Mgangira said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Former Silver assistant coach, Hellings Mwakasungula, concurred with Mgangira, saying it was too early to rule out the Central Bankers.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cThe league title is still a three-horse race and anything can happen. Of course, Bullets are in the driving seat but they should not relax because [Be Forward] Wanderers and Silver are also eyeing the title,\u201d<\/em> Mwakasungula said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Silver have gone four consecutive years without winning the league title and are under pressure to deliver after several unimpressive performances.<\/p>\n<p>But while the three giants continue to battle for the championship, the battle for survival in the top flight league has also reached a critical stage.<\/p>\n<p>Five teams, namely Nchalo United, Mafco, Dwangwa United, Red Lions and Karonga United are in danger of being relegated.<\/p>\n<p>Bottom-placed Nchalo may as well start preparing for life in the lower division next season after a 3-1 loss to Blue Eagles at Nankhaka in Lilongwe left them with the least points in the league at 12.<\/p>\n<p>Mafco are second from bottom with 17 points from 22 games followed by Dwangwa on 24 points from 21 games.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Mabvuto Kambuwe: Capital City giants Silver Strikers have refused to throw in the towel in their hunt for the TNM Super League title despite dropping points in the 2-2 stalemate against Dwangwa United at Chitowe Ground on Saturday.
