{"id":69729,"date":"2018-09-27T08:56:25","date_gmt":"2018-09-27T06:56:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=69729"},"modified":"2018-09-27T08:56:27","modified_gmt":"2018-09-27T06:56:27","slug":"big-bullets-get-nod-to-play-at-bingu-national-stadium","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2018\/09\/27\/big-bullets-get-nod-to-play-at-bingu-national-stadium\/","title":{"rendered":"Big Bullets get nod to play at Bingu National Stadium"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>By Peter Kanjere: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/gomezani-zakazaka.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-69731\" src=\"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/gomezani-zakazaka-300x223.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"223\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/gomezani-zakazaka-300x223.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/gomezani-zakazaka.jpg 491w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Football Association of Malawi (Fam) has given Nyasa Big Bullets the all-clear to play again at Bingu National Stadium (BNS), two months after the TNM Super League leaders were asked to pay a K325,606.25 fine if they were to use the Lilongwe venue.<\/p>\n<p>Fam Competitions Manager, Gomezgani Zakazaka, was responding to <em>The Daily Times<\/em>\u2019 question on what would become of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.times.mw\/debate-on-big-bullets-verdict\/\">Bullets\u2019 ban<\/a> from BNS in the event that they sailed past Masters Security FC in the Carlsberg Cup semi-final.<\/p>\n<p>The Carlsberg Cup final is scheduled for BNS on October 16.<\/p>\n<p>Zakazaka Wednesday confirmed that Bullets, who earned Fam\u2019s wrath over the violence that occurred during the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.times.mw\/blue-eagles-clinch-airtel-trophy\/\">Airtel Top 8 final<\/a> against Blue Eagles in July, are eligible to play at BNS again.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cThey paid the fine and we are impressed that they have taken measures to ensure that such things do not happen again by, among others, training some 100 stewards to monitor supporters,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>One of Bullets\u2019 top fans, Mabvuto Chibambo, said they were happy that their management paid the fine.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cIt is a foregone conclusion that Bullets will play at Bingu National Stadium in the final because we will win in the semi-final. We regret what happened at the stadium but it was not to do with football but football politics,\u201d<\/em> Chibambo said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Bullets veteran winger, Fischer Kondowe, Wednesday welcomed their possible return to BNS.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cWe accepted the blame for the unfortunate incident that happened at the stadium but Bullets cannot beg for a particular venue. This team needs to be respected. After all, our preferred venue, Kamuzu Stadium, has been re-opened,\u201d<\/em> Kondowe said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Fam Disciplinary Committee banned Bullets from using BNS until they paid the fine for the damage their supporters caused to the Lilongwe facility.<\/p>\n<p>The committee also banned Bullets from participating in next year\u2019s edition of the Airtel Top 8 and fined them K7,297,241 for offences ranging from pitch invasion, criticising match officials in public, inciting violence, to bringing the game into disrepute and causing a brawl.<\/p>\n<p>The committee ordered Bullets to pay the fines within 21 days from July 26 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Bullets officials, players and fans descended on the pitch after the game to protest against referee Misheck Juba\u2019s decision to award Eagles a penalty after the Blantyre giants\u2019 defender Yamikani Fodya appeared to foul advancing winger Gilbert Chirwa.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Peter Kanjere: Football Association of Malawi (Fam) has given Nyasa Big Bullets the all-clear to play again at Bingu National Stadium (BNS), two months after the TNM Super League leaders were asked to pay a K325,606.25 fine if they were to use the Lilongwe venue.
