[dropcap]M[\/dropcap]alawi national football team skipper, Limbikani Mzava, has challenged his teamates to fight for at least a draw if they cannot beat Morocco\u2019s Atlas Lions in tomorrow\u2019s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) Group B qualifier.<\/p>\n

Speaking before flying out to Casablanca on Wednesday, Mzava urged his teammates to show anger when facing the hosts Morocco who are fresh from the 2018 World Cup final in Russia.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery player in the final squad is aware that this is a crucial game for us. We need to avoid defeat at all cost. We know that they were at the World Cup recently but this is none of our business. Morocco is just a name. If we work hard, I am confident that we can do well,\u201d the Golden Arrows sweeper said.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The match will take place at Complexe Mohammed V Stadium. Malawi has only defeated Morocco once in seven meetings in all competitions.<\/p>\n

The South Africa-based defender said he was aware that some quarters in the local football fraternity have ruled out the Flames\u2019 prospect of winning the match.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would like to encourage my fellow players that if we win in Morocco, we stand to make history. It shall mean that we are one step closer to the Afcon finals,\u201d Mzava said.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Football Association of Malawi President, Walter Nyamilandu, on Wednesday also urged the Flames to seize the moment and make a name in Morocco.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, you are going there as underdogs but think deeply about what would happen if you in Morocco. What would that mean to your careers? Don\u2019t you think you can become instant heroes. Don\u2019t you think the whole world will be talking about you?\u201d Nyamilandu said when he addressed the team at Mpira Village in Chiwembe Township in Blantyre.<\/p>\n

However earlier, the Flames\u2019 member of the 2010 Afcon squad, Hellings Mwakasungula, said he was not impressed by the team\u2019s chopping and changing of players, especially goalkeepers.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are not at s stage where we can cause an upset in Rabat or Casablanca at the moment. It is so sad to say [it]. Truth pains but I just don\u2019t see ourselves doing that in Morocco,\u201d Mwakasungula said.<\/p>\n

The Flames Coach, Ronny van Geneugden, has travelled to Morocco with a 20-member squad, comprising 11 home -based players with Yamikani Chester of Be Forward Wanderers as the surprise exclusion.<\/p>\n
