{"id":68762,"date":"2018-07-30T10:06:18","date_gmt":"2018-07-30T08:06:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=68762"},"modified":"2018-07-30T10:06:19","modified_gmt":"2018-07-30T08:06:19","slug":"crispin-moliyati-loses-in-south-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2018\/07\/30\/crispin-moliyati-loses-in-south-africa\/","title":{"rendered":"Crispin Moliyati loses in South Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>BY MPHATSO MALIDADI: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Malawi lightweight champion, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.times.mw\/crispin-moliyati-reclaims-belt\/\">Crispin Moliyati<\/a>, failed to match World Boxing Association (WBA) Pan African lightweight boxing champion Ayanda Nkosi after he suffered a third-round TKO in South Africa\u2019s North West Province on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Nkosi, who is trained by Peter and Patrick Malinga, started strongly by pinning down his Malawian opponent in a TK Boxing Promotions bill at Rustenburg Hall.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.times.mw\/crispin-moliyati-accepts-defeat\/\">Moliyati<\/a> accepted defeat by posting remarks on a professional boxing Whatsapp group where he is an administrator.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI met a tougher opponent. I just need to bounce back and prepare extensively next time,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Moliyati said he would be seeking a rematch to avenge the loss.<\/p>\n<p>Following the win, Nkosi has 10 wins in his professional boxing career, with five knockouts against one loss, while Moliati has 22 wins from 35 bouts.<\/p>\n<p>However, local matchmaker Steve \u2018Mawenzi\u2019 Msiska faulted Moliyati for travelling without a trainer ahead of the grueling encounter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have noted that most of our boxers fail to impress when they travel for international fights because they usually have weak corner-men. There are many occasions when matchmakers step in to fill the gap created by the absence of a trainer.
