The two students were recently among Jacaranda School for Orphans students that showcased their talent to Madonna when she visited the school.<\/p>\n
Madonna said after watching the performances that she was blown away with the talent at the school.<\/p>\n
Vanessa and Joyce have been invited to sing to over 40,000 people at a Youth Music Festival in Medjugorje, Bosnia.<\/p>\n
Da Silva said Vanessa and Joyce will perform songs they wrote and usually perform at Jacaranda.<\/p>\n
The songs include \u2018Children of Africa\u2019 and \u2018Education\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe students have been invited by Mary\u2019s Meals who will have an hour on stage speaking about their programme. Today Mary\u2019s Meals feeds 937,997 children in Malawi daily and this includes Jacaranda School learners,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Da Silva said they feel honoured to be invited to a festival which brings thousands of people from many countries around the world.<\/p>\n
\u201cJoyce and Vanessa will be able to enjoy various world music performed by the youth. At Jacaranda school, we take the arts very seriously and give students a platform to showcase their talents,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
On the day they will be leaving for Bosnia, two other students from the school- Mayeso Bamusi and Pemphero Chiwaya-will be returning from Los Angeles, United States of America, after spending a month at Otis College of Art and Design.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur goal is to give the students chances where they can learn and acquire skills and knowledge from other places around the world,\u201d Da Silva said.<\/p>\n
Their itinerary indicates that they will first jet into Croatia and then drive to Bosnia.<\/p>\n
Da Silva, said from there, they will proceed to France where the girls will visit Paris and the French countryside.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
