We don\u2019t have facilities for the sport in the country. We improvise on the court and even on wheelchairs too. There [the issue of availability of] are a lot of physically challenged people from across the country that would like to join the league. Sadly, league games are only available in Blantyre,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Nkhoma said the league offers physically challenged people a platform for interaction.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou should not take this league lightly because it provides the best platform for interaction. Not all of us were born disabled; as, such we need a platform where we can interact,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The club\u2019s founding member, Charles Nyasa, said they were compiling a list of potential players from different districts before coming up with a strategic plan to woo corporate support.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is true that we have a lot of people that want to participate in the league but we don\u2019t have facilities and resources to help us achieve our goals,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BY MPHATSO MALIDADI: Wheelchair Basketball Club members have called for support to enable physically challenged athletes from several districts to join the team.
