We welcome foreigners to work in the country&#8230; Don\u2019t call us slaves or monkeys\u2026 if that will ever happen again I will kick them out of this country,\u201d Mutharika said.<\/p>\n<p>Mutharika\u2019s remarks come after a British national, Mike Harper, described as a slave a domestic worker working for another expat in Lilongwe last week.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe ministry of labour should give me those names and I will kick them out of this country in 24 hours,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Harper, was however, not deported as demanded by rights groups.<\/p>\n<p>Mutharika was speaking at a ground breaking ceremony of Rumphi\u2014Nyika\u2014Chitipa road yesterday at Bolero in Rumphi.<\/p>\n<p>The President also took time to deny that he was nepotistic citing that out of the 36 judges the country has 13 from the northern region, 10 are from the south, nine are from the eastern region and four are from the central.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the Supreme Court we have nine justices eight of which are from the northern region and one is from the central region, we have none in the southern region, so Malawians it is time we stopped saying I am nepotistic,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>In his remarks Paramount Chief Chikulamayembe expressed worry over growing corruption in the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Corruption yakwera chomene\u2026 anthu akutola ndalama zaboma\u2026 chalo chanangika<\/em>. Corruption has risen tremendously and people are stealing government\u2019s money. The country is rotten,\u201d said Paramount Chikulamayembe demanding prompt action.<\/p>\n<p>Chikulamayembe then expressed concern over Malawi\u2019s porous borders which have created room for more illegal foreign settlers in the northern region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur borders are very porous foreigners are trekking in our communities and are doing well in business.
