{"id":68289,"date":"2018-07-12T09:25:17","date_gmt":"2018-07-12T07:25:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=68289"},"modified":"2018-07-12T09:25:17","modified_gmt":"2018-07-12T07:25:17","slug":"ethno-sweden-representatives-back","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2018\/07\/12\/ethno-sweden-representatives-back\/","title":{"rendered":"Ethno Sweden representatives back"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>BY SAM BANDA JNR <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>IN FORDE, NORWAY:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Two young artists, Gift Banda and Jerusha Chipingo, who<a href=\"https:\/\/www.times.mw\/two-artists-invited-to-ethno-sweden\/\"> flew the country\u2019s flag at Ethno Sweden<\/a>, returned home on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The two artists, who performed and held workshops with fellow artists, were invited by the Jeunness Musicale Sweden through Ethno Sweden.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was an exciting one week outing that gave us an insight into how our friends are progressing with their music. Again, we shared our own stories on music and, in the end of it all, we had performances,\u201d Banda said.<\/p>\n<p>He said it was also a good feeling for them to perform to a different audience.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cApart from performing at a festival, we also had our own concert. As such, it was all good and we represented Malawi well,\u201d Banda said.<\/p>\n<p>The two artists are from the Music Crossroads Academy.<\/p>\n<p>Ethno Sweden run from June 28 to 6.<\/p>\n<p>Music Crossroads Malawi Director, Mathews Mfune, said the two have learned a lot from the trip.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs you are aware, Ethno Malawi rebranded from Pakhonde Ethno Music Camp this year.
