{"id":68151,"date":"2018-07-06T10:24:07","date_gmt":"2018-07-06T08:24:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=68151"},"modified":"2018-07-06T10:24:08","modified_gmt":"2018-07-06T08:24:08","slug":"12-committed-to-high-court-in-mcdonald-masambukas-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2018\/07\/06\/12-committed-to-high-court-in-mcdonald-masambukas-case\/","title":{"rendered":"12 committed to High Court in McDonald Masambuka\u2019s case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>BY JARSON MALOWA, A CONTRIBUTOR:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Zomba Chief Resident Magistrate Court yesterday committed to the High Court 12 suspects in the case of 22-year-old McDonald Masambuka, a person with albinism from Machinga who was found dead with some body parts missing in April this year.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Resident Magistrate Paul Chiotcha committed the 12, including suspended Catholic priest Father Thomas Muhosha, medic Lumbani Kamanga and police officer Chikondi Chileka.<\/p>\n<p>Muhosha, 48, is accused of transacting in human tissue whereas Kamanga, 49, is answering two counts of causing harm to a person with disability and causing another person to extract tissue from a person with disability, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, Chileka, 35, is answering the charge of extracting human tissue and being found in possession of human tissue, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Another suspect Cassim White Masambuka, 32, MacDonald\u2019s brother who was arrested on Wednesday, is answering charges of murder, causing another person to harm a person with disability and trafficking in persons.<\/p>\n<p>The other eight are Maxwel Sosola, 38; Bashir Lilongwe, 25; Dickson Ndengu, 24; Alfred Yohane, 26; Master Phulanya Injesi, 43; Mussa Lilongwe, 47; Lackness Magombo, 35 and Innocent Wallace.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview after the court proceedings, Senior State Advocate Pirirani Masanjala said the 12 will remain on remand in various prisons.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey will be answering different charges in the High Court and they have the right to apply for bail.
