Lake of Stars Festival has extended the early bird ticket deadline as part of this year\u2019s Independence Celebrations which set for Friday.<\/p>\n

In a press statement, the organisers say the extension has also been necessitated by popular demand.<\/p>\n

\u201cMusic lovers have an extra week to save K10,000 on tickets which are on sale at outlets in Blantyre, Zomba, Lilongwe, Salima and Mzuzu,\u201d reads the statement.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Lake of Stars event marks the 15th anniversary of the festival.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the showpiece, the organisers kept up the steam starting off with a \u2018Set It Off \u2019 show in Zomba in January which featured female acts before hosting Lake of Stars London and Scotland in March.<\/p>\n

The venue for this year is Kabumba Hotel in Salima from September 28 -30.<\/p>\n

Some of the acts set to perform at this year\u2019s festival include Kenya\u2019s superstars Sauti Sol.<\/p>\n

Joining Kenya\u2019s Sauti Sol on the line-up are homegrown talent Suffix famed for the song \u2018Mkazi wa Kumwamba\u2019, <\/em>KBG, Its Friday and one of the country\u2019s leading DJ\u2019s – DJ Bubblegum, have also been added to the menu, joining previously announced acts such as Fredokiss, George Kalukusha, Madalitso Band, Kim of Diamonds and Forus Dance Crew.<\/p>\n

From the UK, a duo of poets Michael Pedersen and Hollie McNish, will give their first Malawi performance, along with DJ Ste Chester from Audio Farm and Germany\u2019s Makatumbe.<\/p>\n

Makatumbe, which two weeks ago collaborated with Patience Namadingo and Princess Chitsulo<\/a> during a show in Hannover, said they are excited to perform in Malawi for the first time.<\/p>\n

Apart from performing at the Lake of Stars Festival, the group will also feature at Blantyre Arts Festival in October.<\/p>\n

Organisers of the festival whose founder is Will Jameson have since indicated that more artists will be accommodated<\/p>\n

The festival returns this year after a one-year break.<\/p>\n

The organisers have also said official festival camping is now available to book on-site at the festival at $12 per person per night.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
