{"id":67710,"date":"2018-06-29T09:08:45","date_gmt":"2018-06-29T07:08:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=67710"},"modified":"2018-06-29T09:08:45","modified_gmt":"2018-06-29T07:08:45","slug":"here-comes-kuimba-11","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2018\/06\/29\/here-comes-kuimba-11\/","title":{"rendered":"Here comes \u2018Kuimba 11\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>BY SAM BANDA JNR <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The wait is now over for Black Missionaries fans as the reggae group this weekend <a href=\"https:\/\/www.times.mw\/ready-to-be-served-will-kuimba-11-shine\/\">launches its <em>Kuimba 11 <\/em>album<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The group has received criticism since releasing four promotional songs on April 20 namely \u2018Z<em>ofuna Mtima Wanga\u2019, \u2018Special Lover\u2019, \u2018Umboni,\u2019 and \u2018Mbusa\u2019. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Some quarters have said the group could have done better on the songs but Blacks lead vocalist Anjiru Fumulani, while welcoming constructive criticism, insisted they have done a better job.<\/p>\n<p>Others said people should wait for the whole album to come out. Now they have the time to make their judgment.<\/p>\n<p>Black Missionaries has been playing the promotional songs during some of their shows which have however, been welcomed by the fans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe appreciate the support that we get from people and we thank God for the gift of life and talent,\u201d Anjiru said Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>He said people should patronise their show in large numbers as they will perform all the 10 songs in the album.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a different launch. We are happy that the big day has come. People will see a new set up by Black Missionaries and also new faces,\u201d Anjiru said.<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of the launch, the group has also released two music videos \u2013 \u2018<em>Special Lover\u2019, <\/em>and \u2018<em>Gombe La <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Keyboardist Chizondi Fumulani has once again come out to lead with his hoarse voice just like he also managed proceedings in <em>\u2018Mr Bossman<\/em>\u2019, off <em>Kuimba 10 <\/em>and in <em>Kuimba 11 <\/em>he has also led in the romantic track \u2018Special Lover\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI owe this to the team for entrusting me with the task in some of the songs in <em>Kuimba 11<\/em>. There is still more room for improvement but I am enjoying this and we are ready for the people this weekend,\u201d Chizondi said.<\/p>\n<p>Bassist Peter Amidu also said they are ready.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll what I ask fans is to listen to the message and we thank God that the mission still continues,\u201d Amidu said.<\/p>\n<p><em>Kuimba 11 <\/em>will be launched tonight at Robins Park in Blantyre where Dan Lufani, Skeffa Chimoto, Great Angels Choir and Anthony Makondetsa will be part of the menu.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, the launch goes to Lilongwe Golf Club where Entertainers Promotions has hyped up the event by arranging to fly the group on Malawian Airlines.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the artists set to spice up the Lilongwe launch include Lucius Banda, Nepman, Sam Smack, Dan Lu, Skeffa Chimoto and Anthony Makondetsa.<\/p>\n<p>Blacks will then take the launch to Squirrels Park in Mzuzu on July 28.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BY SAM BANDA JNR The wait is now over for Black Missionaries fans as the reggae group this weekend launches its Kuimba 11 album.
