{"id":67576,"date":"2018-06-27T07:31:25","date_gmt":"2018-06-27T05:31:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=67576"},"modified":"2018-06-27T07:31:25","modified_gmt":"2018-06-27T05:31:25","slug":"amos-bello-turns-down-big-bullets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2018\/06\/27\/amos-bello-turns-down-big-bullets\/","title":{"rendered":"Amos Bello turns down Big Bullets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>BY WILLIAMS GONDWA:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nyasa Big Bullets have reportedly failed to sign former Be Forward Wanderers Nigerian striker, Amos Bello, due to a misunderstanding on signing-on fees.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Daily Times <\/em>was unable to verify Bello\u2019s issue with Bullets as their Chief Executive Officer, Fleetwood Haiya, was not readily available for a comment as we went to press Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>But a copy of the contract, which <em>The Daily Times <\/em>has seen, shows that Bullets nearly signed Bello on Monday as a free agent after he parted ways with the Nomads last season.<\/p>\n<p>He missed action last season due to injury.<\/p>\n<p>The copy of the proposed contract indicates that the team offered Bello a signing-on fee of K3 million for a two-year contract.<\/p>\n<p>The contract shows that Bullets offered Bello a salary of K330,000, K30,000 game bonus for a win, K5, 000 for a draw and K6,000 weekly training allowance.<\/p>\n<p>Bello\u2019s agent, Duncan Kamwendo, Tuesday confirmed that his client refused to sign the contract because Bullets did not commit to paying his signing-on fee instantly.<\/p>\n<p>Kamwendo claimed that Bullets wanted to pay half the fee in three months but Bello refused because he did not want a repeat of what he experienced at Wanderers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, the deal between Bello and Bullets has been cancelled because we failed to agree on the mode of payment of the signing-on fee. Bullets wanted to sign Bello without giving him part payment of the signing-on fee until he plays for the club for three to six months.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI tried to convince Bello to sign without the signing-on fee but he refused, and it was difficult to force him.
