{"id":67542,"date":"2018-06-26T08:20:17","date_gmt":"2018-06-26T06:20:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=67542"},"modified":"2018-06-26T08:20:18","modified_gmt":"2018-06-26T06:20:18","slug":"christians-urged-to-condemn-bad-leadership","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2018\/06\/26\/christians-urged-to-condemn-bad-leadership\/","title":{"rendered":"Christians urged to condemn bad leadership"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>BY WATIPASO MZUNGU, <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>A CONTRIBUTOR <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Word Alive Ministries International (Wami) general overseer, Reverend Zacc Kawalala, has urged Christians to speak out against bad leadership, arguing \u201cpassive Christianity\u201d has not helped Malawians reap the fruits of multiparty politics.<\/p>\n<p>Kawalala said leaders, both in private and public sectors, take advantage of the unresponsiveness of citizens to loot resources.<\/p>\n<p>He was speaking in Lilongwe on Friday evening when he hosted various dignitaries to the 2018 Dynamic Leaders and Gatekeepers Forum.<\/p>\n<p>The forum was organised by World Alive Christian Education (Wace).<\/p>\n<p>Quoting Martin Luther, Kawalala said Christians who passively accept evil were as much involved in it as those who perpetrate it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe who accepts evil without protesting against it is really cooperating with it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Kawalala made reference to the anarchy that ensued at the National Assembly where suspected Democratic Progressive Party cadets interrupted President Peter Mutharika\u2019s State of the Nation Address.,<\/p>\n<p>Director of Public Prosecutions, Mary Kachale, asked Christians to remain agile in the service of God.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BY WATIPASO MZUNGU, A CONTRIBUTOR Word Alive Ministries International (Wami) general overseer, Reverend Zacc Kawalala, has urged Christians to speak out against bad leadership, arguing \u201cpassive Christianity\u201d has not helped Malawians reap the fruits of multiparty politics.
