{"id":67407,"date":"2018-06-24T07:19:32","date_gmt":"2018-06-24T05:19:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=67407"},"modified":"2018-06-24T07:19:32","modified_gmt":"2018-06-24T05:19:32","slug":"nankhaka-police-summons-nomads","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2018\/06\/24\/nankhaka-police-summons-nomads\/","title":{"rendered":"Nankhaka police  summons Nomads"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lilongwe cops have reportedly mounted a strong roadblock at Nankhaka in Area 30, trying to stop some vehicles which Japanese-powered Be Forward Wanderers have dispatched to the Capital City today.<\/p>\n<p>The police officers of Blue Eagles, led by Constable Micium Mhone, are suspicious with the blue convoy of Wanderers which Captain Alfred Manyozo Junior is leading.<\/p>\n<p>There is no evidence of duty evasion or any offence but the cops, out of sense of duty, are not taking chances.<\/p>\n<p>The cops must have obtained a search warrant from Super League of Malawi, ready to stop Wanderers.<\/p>\n<p>But the Nomads are capable of evading such a roadblock as they are in a hurry, chasing points that are proving elusive to them in the league race.<\/p>\n<p>The above could be the imaginary picture as high soaring Eagles host Wanderers with both teams eyeing a top-five slot.<\/p>\n<p>Wanderers, who beat Kamuzu Barracks 2-1 yesterday at Kasungu Stadium, cannot afford to drop further points whether at home or away.<\/p>\n<p>The Nomads have won twice and lost twice on the road; results that have placed them down the pecking order on 12th place with 11 points.<\/p>\n<p>Maxwell Salambula and Mhone will lead the attack for the cops whereas Joseph Kamwendo and Zicco Mkanda should, all things being equal, make things happen for the Nomads.<\/p>\n<p>Eagles are on sixth place with 14 points from eight games and, a win can see them jump to third place.<\/p>\n<p>In another game, Nchalo United hope to build on their last week\u2019s surprise 1-0 win over Red Lions when welcoming bad travellers Azam Tigers.<\/p>\n<p>Tigers are winless on the road in four games of three defeats and one draw whereas Nchalo have, in six home games, won twice, drawn once and lost thrice.<\/p>\n<p>Tigers, who led the standings in the opening weeks, are placed seventh with 13 points from 10 games whereas the 14th placed Nchalo have eight points from 10 matches.<\/p>\n<p>Luke Chima is the man to watch for Tigers whereas Nchalo have some talent such as Felix Kamwendo.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, Karonga United face Silver Strikers at Karonga Stadium where the rookies are a hard nut to crack.<\/p>\n<p>A win for Silver can see them get closer to leaders Nyasa Big Bullets.<\/p>\n<p>At Dedza Stadium, Masters Security\u2019s return to form is set to continue as they entertain Moyale Barracks whereas TN Stars have home ground advantage as Mafco visit Kasungu Stadium.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lilongwe cops have reportedly mounted a strong roadblock at Nankhaka in Area 30, trying to stop some vehicles which Japanese-powered Be Forward Wanderers have dispatched to the Capital City today.
