{"id":67296,"date":"2018-06-22T09:30:32","date_gmt":"2018-06-22T07:30:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=67296"},"modified":"2018-06-22T09:30:33","modified_gmt":"2018-06-22T07:30:33","slug":"insurers-gear-up-for-sports-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2018\/06\/22\/insurers-gear-up-for-sports-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Insurers gear up for Sports Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Insurance Institute of Malawi (IIM) has said preparations are at an advanced stage for the Insurance Sports Day slated for June 30.<\/p>\n<p>IIM Events Officer, Ted Makunje, Thursday said the Sports Day will be held at College of Medicine Sports Complex in Blantyre.<\/p>\n<p>Makunje said the Sports Day is an important event on the calendar of insurers as it helps them to come together and interact in an informal set up.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the Sports Day helps the insurers to keep fit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs they say, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. So this Sports Day helps us to relax from our busy schedules.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt also gives us an opportunity to interact and share experiences on some of the challenges in the industry as well as share possible solutions,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The insurers will compete in football, netball, volleyball, sack race, chess, bawo, weightlifting, basketball, tug-of-war, gendaball and cycling.<\/p>\n<p>Makunje said on the eve of the Sports Day, there will be a golf tournament at Blantyre Sports Club.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring prize presentation on June 30, there will be a performance by Edgar ndi Davis and disco by DJ Maccoge.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Insurance Institute of Malawi (IIM) has said preparations are at an advanced stage for the Insurance Sports Day slated for June 30.
