{"id":67292,"date":"2018-06-22T08:56:07","date_gmt":"2018-06-22T06:56:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=67292"},"modified":"2018-06-22T08:56:07","modified_gmt":"2018-06-22T06:56:07","slug":"fedoma-asks-for-inclusive-budget","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2018\/06\/22\/fedoma-asks-for-inclusive-budget\/","title":{"rendered":"Fedoma asks for inclusive budget"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Federation of People of Disability Organisations in Malawi (Fedoma) has urged Parliament to pass a budget that may solve issues that affect people with disability.<\/p>\n<p>Fedoma Disability Inclusive Society Project Coordinator, Cecilia Phiri, said people with disability face countless challenges, necessitating the need for more resources to advance their cause.<\/p>\n<p>Phiri has said the organisation has been courting stakeholders, including Members of Parliament.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur expectation is that this year\u2019s budget will be inclusive because we have started right away working in the districts where our District Disability Forum is working with councils,\u201d Phiri said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is our thinking that the budget that is going to be passed will be disability inclusive. We, as an organisation, have been issuing position papers to the line ministry in order to make sure that this budget will be inclusive.
