Kaizer Chiefs\u2019 interim Coach, Patrick Mabedi, might continue to raise Malawi\u2019s flag in South Africa as the team is considering keeping him as coach.<\/p>\n
Reports in South Africa suggest that Chiefs may not hire a new coach soon to replace Steve Komphela who resigned with three games to go last season.<\/p>\n
South Africa\u2019s Soccer Laduma reported last week that Chiefs want Mabedi\u2014 who acted as interim coach after Komphela\u2019s resignation\u2014to oversee transition at the club for whoever comes in as coach.<\/p>\n
Several coaches have been linked to Chiefs but, with two weeks to go before pre-season training, the club is yet to appoint one.<\/p>\n
Football Association of Malawi Technical Director, John Kaputa, recently told Times that Mabedi was the right man for Chiefs\u2019 job owing to his experience having also played for them.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe has been a captain for Chiefs and also assistant and all these give him an upper hand to snatch the job. His success will do the country good since there are a lot of opportunities for Malawian players,\u201d Kaputa said.<\/p>\n
Chiefs\u2019 Football Manager, Bobby Motaung, recently declined to comment on the names of coaches who have shown an interest in the job, he said they could have an idea on who they are eyeing before the end of the month.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are not in a hurry. This is a process,\u201d Motaung was quoted as saying. We don\u2019t have deadline or set any timelines on when we should appoint a coach. But that will be before the new season starts,\u201d Motaung is quoted as saying by www.goal. com.<\/p>\n
