{"id":66891,"date":"2018-06-15T09:17:11","date_gmt":"2018-06-15T07:17:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=66891"},"modified":"2018-06-15T09:17:12","modified_gmt":"2018-06-15T07:17:12","slug":"womens-football-league-returns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2018\/06\/15\/womens-football-league-returns\/","title":{"rendered":"Women\u2019s football league returns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Women\u2019s Football League action resumes this weekend following a meeting involving the National Women Football Association (NWFA) and teams over the weekend in Lilongwe.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, the teams boycotted games in the league, demanding that NWFA should increase prize money, call for Central Region elections and a consultative meeting.<\/p>\n<p>NWFA General Secretary, Lina Mtegha, confirmed that all was back to normal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe had representatives from all regions, including Football Association of Malawi (Fam). We are delighted that we met most of their demands, apart from one which is about raising prize money, which is beyond us. However, we assured them that we would liaise with Fam for consideration,\u201d Mtegha said.<\/p>\n<p>League champions pocket K750,000 but the teams feel the amount is on the lower side.<\/p>\n<p>The teams\u2019 representative, Isaac Osman, who sponsors defending champions Ntopwa Super Queens of Blantyre, confirmed the development.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are starting games this weekend.
