Nyasa Big Bullets have played down the poor performance of their arch-rivals, Be Forward Wanderers, ahead of Saturday\u2019s do or die Airtel Top 8 semi-final encounter at Bungu National Stadium in Lilongwe.<\/p>\n
Wanderers are passing through hard times as they are failing to recover from their Confederation of African Football Champions League 6-1 goal-aggregate loss to the Democratic Republic of Congo side, AS Vita.<\/p>\n
In the Super League, Wanderers are on position 12 with eight points from six games. Their recent outing in the league ended in a 1-0 loss to Red Lions through Royal Bokosi\u2019s first-half goal on Sunday.<\/p>\n
However, Bullets Chief Executive Officer, Fleetwood Haiya, said they have warned their players and coaches against underrating Wanderers.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are not relaxed; we are monitoring every move because we know that, despite all the stories taking place at Wanderers, the Nomads will still come hard to show their superiority.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe players and technical staff are aware of the importance of this game and we have warned them that, come rain or sunshine, they must beat Wanderers,\u201d Haiya said.<\/p>\n
Wanderers Chairperson, Gift Mkandawire, said they were putting their house in order so as to win the game.<\/p>\n
Mkandawire said Wanderers have since engaged want-away players Peter Cholopi, Misheck Botomani and Dan Kumwenda, who resigned from the team last week following contractual disputes.<\/p>\n
\u201cEvery time we play Bullets, it is like a final. We have been going through bad times manly in scoring goals but we believe that the boys are going to play with their lungs out to make sure that we win the match,\u201d Mkandawire said.<\/p>\n
Cup organisers, Football Association of Malawi Marketing and Commercial Director Limbani Matola, said, together with sponsor Airtel Malawi, they will run a promotion whereby 50 supporters who will predict the match will watch the final for free.<\/p>\n
