Malawi Professional Boxing Control Board (MPBCB) has advised three female boxers of the moment to embrace opportunities that are coming their way.<\/p>\n
MPBCB President, Lonzoe \u2018Defector\u2019 Zimba, said this ahead of international title fights which African Boxing Union (ABU) super lightweight champion Anisha Bashir and Ruth Chisale will be involved in.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur female boxers need to decorate themselves. So it is time they stay focused and determined. They must not let these opportunities slip through their fingers.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnisha has a chance to add a Commonwealth belt on top of the ABU title. Ruth can win two belts at once. On the other hand, Ellen Simwaka has also attracted offers from reputable promoters in South Africa. These are chances they must embrace,\u201d Zimba said.<\/p>\n
Bashir will vie for the vacant Commonwealth (British Empire) Female lightweight title in London, United Kingdom, on Friday when she squares up against Samantha \u2018SJ\u2019 Smith whereas her compatriot Chisale faces American Layla McCarter for two vacant belts at Wildpark Stadion-Karlsrushe in Germany on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Another female boxer, Ellen Simwaka, is set to seal a deal with some leading South African promoters after drawing an ABU bantamweight fight against Simangele Hadebe of South Africa.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Zimba has said it is just a matter of time before local male boxers also win international belts.<\/p>\n
