The Malawi Defence Force (MDF) has fired Moyale FC hit-man Khuda Muyaba for absconding military duties.<\/p>\n
Muyaba made headlines last season after helping Moyale to reach the Fisd Challenge Cup final with two stunning goals in a semi final match against Nyasa Big Bullets at Civo Stadium.<\/p>\n
He also helped the Lions of Kaning\u2019ina reach the semi final of the inaugural Airtel Top 8 cup where they failed to proceed to the final after losing to Be Forward Wanderers 3-2 at Bingu National Stadium.<\/p>\n
Earlier this year during pre-season, Muyaba surprised the soccer fraternity by announcing that he wanted to quit Moyale and join any civilian club.<\/p>\n
In a post on his facebook page, he expressed his frustrations with some unnamed MDF officials for not giving him the opportunity to go for a peace keeping mission outside the country.<\/p>\n
Since then, Muyaba is said to have been absconding his MDF duties.<\/p>\n
His efforts to join big teams such as Nyasa Big Bullets, Be Forward Wanderers and Silver Strikers fell through despite the Central Bankers earlier announcing that they had signed him.<\/p>\n
MDF Public Relations Officer, Major Paul Chiphwanya, confirmed the development yesterday, saying he has been absconding duties for five months.<\/p>\n
But Chiphwanya was reluctant to state whether the dismissal meant that the on-and-off Flames striker is free to join any club, saying Football Association of Malawi (Fam) will guide Moyale on the matter.<\/p>\n
\u201cYes, Khuda Muyaba has been fired as a Malawi Defence Force soldier. It means he is no longer our soldier. But as regards his status as a Moyale player, I cannot tell what is going to happen next. This is a matter for Moyale and Fam to sort out in line with transfer rules and regulations,\u201d Chiphwanya said.<\/p>\n
Silver General Secretary, Thabo Chakaka Nyirenda, asked for more time to comment on the development, saying he was not aware of Muyaba\u2019s dismissal.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
