TNM Super Lea g u e defending champions Be Forward Wanderers have said they will not be under pressure to catch up with their rivals as they return to action after a two-week break.<\/p>\n
Wanderers were exempted from matches in the elite league after eight of their players were selected for the Malawi national football team which competed in the ongoing Cosafa Castle Cup in Polokwane, South Africa.<\/p>\n
The Nomads have played the least number of games in the league (five), and lie on position 10 with eight points.<\/p>\n
They have a 10-point gap to cover if they are to catch up with leaders Nyasa Big Bullets who have played eight games.<\/p>\n
Other teams such as Mzuni and Azam Tigers have played nine matches so far.<\/p>\n
But Team Manager for the Lali Lubani Road side, Steve Madeira, said his charges are under no pressure to catch up with their bitter rivals as they were also in the same situation last season.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt one point last season, we were behind by six games. But we managed to win all the games and finished the first round on top of the table.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe momentum we gathered from there enabled us to win the league championship. We can do the same this season,\u201d Madeira said.<\/p>\n
He said the team has been playing friendly games in the past two weeks to help players remain in good shape ahead of their return to league action.<\/p>\n
Madeira said the eight players who were in South Africa will bring a new dimension to the team\u2019s playing format as they have gained valuable international experience.<\/p>\n
The team manager said the team will still be without strikers Jafali Chande and Ishmael Thindwa.<\/p>\n
\u201cThindwa has just returned from Nigeria where he went for prayers and we are yet to assess him. As for Chande, he still has issues that need to be sorted out. So, we will be returning this weekend without the three players,\u201d Madeira said.<\/p>\n
