Netball heavyweights, Tigresses, Diamonds and Thunder Queens maintained their chase for the Rainbow Paints Blantyre and Districts Netball League title after easily thumping minnows on Saturday in matches played at Blantyre Youth Centre.<\/p>\n
Tigresses, who are recovering from a lackluster start to the season, rose to the occasion when they swept aside Gerald Tasaukadala 90-6 in an early kickoff on Saturday.<\/p>\n
The return of senior shooter Sindie Simtowe-Msowoya has opened Tigresses floodgates upfront whereas up-and-coming youngsters in defence and centre court seem to be gelling well with senior colleagues.<\/p>\n
Tigresses have four points from four games and the win has moved them to position seven. Tigresses lost to Diamonds 65-23 before going on to lose to Prison Sisters after failing to turn up for the match.<\/p>\n
Tigresses have since appealed the loss to Prison Sisters and the Southern Region Netball Committee is yet to make a determination.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, leaders Diamonds maintained their winning start to the season after beating Chilomoni Sisters 82-21. Diamonds top the table with 10 points, having won all their five games.<\/p>\n
Thunder defeated Polytechnic 88 – 6 while Shizaella beat Machinjiri 61- 20.<\/p>\n
Thunder remain third with eight points from five games while Prison Sisters are second with eight points from five games.<\/p>\n
