TNM Super League leaders Nyasa Big Bullets should be a worried lot. They may be the only team yet to lose a match in the top flight league but they seem to be on a downward spiral.<\/p>\n
The People\u2019s Team started the season like a house on fire and looked like early favourites for the title.<\/p>\n
But recent barren draws against Mzuni and Karonga United speak of a team that is failing to find the target and win matches.<\/p>\n
Apart from the convincing 4-0 win over newcomers TN Stars some weeks ago, Bullets have struggled to win their matches with big margins.<\/p>\n
However, the team\u2019s technical panel does not see any need to panic as their opponents are slowly reducing the gap.<\/p>\n
As a way of motivating their players and helping them to shrug off fatigue resulting from the long trip to Karonga, Bullets officials hired a Malawi Defence Force plane to ferry the players for Saturday\u2019s match against Karonga United.<\/p>\n
Bullets assistant Coach, Elia Kananji, said it was frustrating that they were unable to turn their chances into goals on Saturday.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe created a number of chances to win by huge margins in both games. The challenge we face every time we play is that teams prepare for us as if they are going into a cup final.<\/p>\n
\u201cHowever, we are working on our shortfalls and, soon, we will be able to rediscover our scoring touch as we aim at lifting the league title,\u201d Kananji said.<\/p>\n
Bullets Chief Executive Officer, Fleetwood Haiya, said they have no regrets for opting to fly their players to Karonga where they returned with a point.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe did some soul-searching after our draw against Mzuni and we are very sure we will be back with the goals,\u201d Haiya said.<\/p>\n
Despite losing four points in their last two games, Bullets are still on top of the table.<\/p>\n
However, second-placed Silver Strikers were in action yesterday with the potential of reducing Bullets\u2019 lead to two points with a win.<\/p>\n
Bullets have 18 points from eight games whereas the Central Bankers, who were meeting Nchalo United as we went to press yesterday, had 13 points from six games.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
