{"id":66138,"date":"2018-06-01T11:30:55","date_gmt":"2018-06-01T09:30:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=66138"},"modified":"2018-06-01T11:30:56","modified_gmt":"2018-06-01T09:30:56","slug":"new-deal-excites-mike-mkwate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2018\/06\/01\/new-deal-excites-mike-mkwate\/","title":{"rendered":"New deal excites Mike Mkwate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nyasa Big Bullets playmaker, Mike Mkwate, has said he is delighted with his two-and-a-half-year contract extension at the People\u2019s Team.<\/p>\n<p>Mkwate\u2019s contract was due to expire at the end of the season but Bullets management has moved swiftly to tie the midfielder to a new contract.<\/p>\n<p>The move follows the midfielder\u2019s blistering start to the season and is seen as a way of stopping rivals Be Forward Wanderers and Silver Strikers from signing him.<\/p>\n<p>The former Wizards FC player said he agreed to sign a new deal after Bullets showed interest in maintaining his services.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt shows that I am loved and trusted. So there was no way I could turn down an extension offer. The club has demonstrated that it values my services. This will motivate me to work even harder to continue satisfying the team\u2019s fans. As players, we are employed to do that,\u201d Mkwate said.<\/p>\n<p>Bullets Chief Executive Officer, Fleetwood Haiya, said it is important for the club to keep all its best players.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome teams were also following him closely. So at times like these, we need to act quickly to ensure that our cream stays with us.
