Malawi Defence Force side Moyale FC have recalled former coach, Collins Nkuna, to help revive the team\u2019s fortunes in the 2018 season.<\/p>\n
This effectively means Charles Kamanga, who has been mentoring the Lions of Kaning\u2019ina since the season kicked off, will be Nkuna\u2019s assistant.<\/p>\n
Moyale were booted out of the Airtel Top 8 Cup in the quarterfinal stage by Nyasa Big Bullets last week on a 1-0 aggregate score and are 13th on the log table, with six points from seven games.<\/p>\n
Nkuna confirmed the development in an interview but declined to give more details as he was waiting for some procedures to be completed.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have not been officially approached by my bosses. We will need to strike a deal on this. For now, I am here in Mzuzu just like any other soldier discharging my military duties. I am just a Moyale supporter and, when all is done, I will be the coach again,\u201d Nkuna said.<\/p>\n
However, Moyale General Secretary, Isaac Banda, expressed ignorance on the matter and described the reports as mere rumours.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know nothing about that. These are just rumours. What I know is that we are working on hiring Nkuna as a technical director. Our head coach is still Charles Kamanga,\u201d Banda said.<\/p>\n
Nkuna is not new in the coaching circles as he mentored Red Lions for six years.<\/p>\n
He was at Moyale in the 2015-16 season as Stereo Gondwe\u2019s successor before losing his job to Nicholas Mhango who is pursuing further studies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
