Struggling TNM Super League outfit, Masters Security FC, are hoping for a turnaround in their fortunes after last Sunday 4-1 victory over Dwangwa United at Chitowe Stadium in Dwangwa, Nkhotakota District.<\/p>\n
The win was the first for the Lilongwe-based side in seven matches and helped them move a step from the bottom of the table with four points.<\/p>\n
Masters may have been struggling since the season kicked off early last month but their striker, Juma Yatina, made history by scoring the season\u2019s first hat-trick in the Dwangwa match.<\/p>\n
Masters\u2019 other goal was scored by Babatude Adeboye while Chifuniro Mpinganjira netted the consolation goal for Dwangwa United.<\/p>\n
Team Manager, Mohammad Selemani, said the club desperately needs to develop a winning mentality in order to survive relegation in the top flight.<\/p>\n
Selemeni said the win has given the team hope that all is not lost despite failing to claim a win in their first six matches of the season.<\/p>\n
He said lack of coordination affected the performance of the team in their previous matches as the technical panel was experimenting on combinations for the starting line-up.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe win has boosted morale in our team. But we are not carried away with this victory because we are not safe yet We need to plan properly for us to continue what we did in Dwangwa. Talking to the boys, one gets the feeling that they are geared to play their lungs out for the remaining first-round assignments.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are at home on Sunday playing against Mafco. We know how crucial this match is. It is not easy facing the army teams. We lost at home against Silver and we do not want to lose again. We would like to continue winning and remain in the Super League,\u201d Selemani said.<\/p>\n
The team\u2019s man of the moment, Yatina, said he was filled with joy for becoming the first scorer of a hat-trick this season.<\/p>\n
But he said what is most important is that he helped his team to collect its first full points in seven matches.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is the responsibility of a striker to score goals. As players, we were responsible for the team\u2019s failure to win matches.
