Malawi Stock Exchange-listed integrated mobile network operator, TNM, on Thursday concluded its Osaphweketsa Mpamba promotion which saw Nkhata Bay-based businessman, Backford Lwazi, winning the grand prize of K1million.<\/p>\n
Lwazi, a Mpamba agent, could not hide his excitement in an interview after the draw. He could, however, not indicate what he would do with the windfall.<\/p>\n
The final draw of the promotion,conducted in Blantyre, also saw two other customers winning K500,000 each while another three pocketed K300,000 each.<\/p>\n
TNM Head of Division \u2013 Mobile Money\u2014 Chikhulupiliro Mphatso, said the promotion had a positive impact on the firm\u2019s business growth.<\/p>\n
He said the promotion received an overwhelming response from customers as evidenced by a significant rise in Mpamba-related transactions.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are satisfied with impact of the promotion on both the subscriber base and transacted volumes,\u201d Mphatso said.<\/p>\n
He said the promotion also lived up to its objective of rewarding customers for their contribution to the growth of mobile money and financial inclusion.<\/p>\n
According to Mphatso, this signifies the essential role that Mpamba plays in digital financial transactions.<\/p>\n
