Furthermore, playing at Mulanje Stadium poses another challenge as we are not very much used to the pitch,” Kananji said.

Bullets were finding their feet at Kalulu Stadium in Nchalo, Chikwawa District, but, alongside Be Forward Wanderers, they have been barred from using the venue due to security concerns.

Therefore, this match poses a stern test for Bullets who will likely bank on the inspiration of ageless winger Fischer Kondowe, attacker Nelson Kangunje and defender Miracle Gabeya.

Gabeya might step in for Bullets Captain John Lanjesi who is also with the Flames. Bashir Maunde is suspended.

Bullets are the only unbeaten team this season and lead the 16-member log table with 16 points from six games. Mzuni lie 13th with six points from six games.

The Mzuzu students are also grappling with off-the-field sponsorship fears after Mzuzu University management announced that they will stop sponsoring the team’s non-student players by this July.

Yet, the majority of Mzuni players are not students. Reports suggest that Mzuni’s few student players are Kelvin Chisaka and Pempho Mtimuni.

During the week, Mzuni officials and Coach, Alex Ngwira, admitted that their players’ morale is down.

“The announcement of the decision affected them psychologically as they are not sure about their future in the team. This can happen to any person.

“However, we have tried to assure them that discussions are in progress between our Executive Committee and university management. We hope that something good will come out,” Ngwira said.

Mzuni FC should have been grateful meeting high-flying Nyasa Big Bullets this afternoon, when they are depleted by injuries and national team commitments.
