{"id":65674,"date":"2018-05-23T07:35:56","date_gmt":"2018-05-23T05:35:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=65674"},"modified":"2018-05-23T07:35:57","modified_gmt":"2018-05-23T05:35:57","slug":"man-arrested-for-killing-wife","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2018\/05\/23\/man-arrested-for-killing-wife\/","title":{"rendered":"Man arrested for \u2018killing\u2019 wife"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 32-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly killing his wife, Zomba Police spokesperson, Patricia Sipiliano, said Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>She said Kondwani Chimenya of Lomwe Village, Traditional Authority (T\/A) Chikowi, in Zomba was arrested for allegedly killing his 26-year-old wife\u2014 Anganatha Ephraim Mpelule Village of T\/A Chikowi.<\/p>\n<p>It is alleged that, on the night of May 12 2018, the suspect told his wife that he was feeling unwell and asked her to accompany him to a witchdoctor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen they arrived at [the witchdoctor\u2019s place in] Malangwi Village, the husband allegedly produced a panga knife and hacked his wife, who died on the spot,\u201d Sipiliano said.<\/p>\n<p>The following day, the body was found by a passerby, who reported the matter to police.<\/p>\n<p>Following investigations, Sipiliano said police arrested the husband, who, during interrogation, admitted to have killed his wife but did not disclose his motivation.<\/p>\n<p>Chimenya will appear in court to answer murder charge, contrary to Section 209 of Penal Code.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A 32-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly killing his wife, Zomba Police spokesperson, Patricia Sipiliano, said Tuesday.
